After it was discovered that the supposed repertoire for SBS Gayo Daejun 2009 turned out to be fake, it had only made many anticipate After School’s performances more at the SBS Gayo Daejun.
Turns out, Kahi and Uee both took part in a girl group special stage for one of the show’s themes called “Change” where girl groups perform boy groups songs and vice versa. Both Kahi and Uee together with 4minute Hyunah and Kara’s Seungyeon and Nicole performed 2PM’s Heartbeat. Crowned the most beastly female idol in Star Golden Bell, Kahi led the group taking up Ok Taecyeon’s part at the beginning of the song. If that was not enough for Playgirlz, Kahi also took up the role for the final zombie in Heartbeat and did a little flip to end the song perfectly.
For the second part of the show, after their fellow Pledis sister Son Dambi performed her song, After School took up the stage with a performance of Because of You. Kahi and Raina entered the stage on a moving platform where Kahi played the piano melody at the beginning of the song. The group was dressed in grey and glittery outfits, which was somewhat a throwback to one year ago when Kahi and Jung Ah made a surprise appearance in Dambi’s performance, wearing black and glittery outfits too. Somewhere in the middle of the song, Kahi, Jung Ah and Uee suddenly broke out into a dance break. If you thought it was just the outfits that were similar to a year ago, Jung Ah and Kahi shook up some old memories in Playgirlz with another epic boob rub.
However, what I personally thought was most memorable about the performance (the boob rub came in second) was actually Raina singing her part amazingly. It was just yesterday that she had fainted from exhaustion and yet, the smallest member of After School came bouncing back up and sang her heart out for the last part of Because of You. I believe many would also agree that this was probably Raina’s best performance so far.
It is typical of After School to give their 200% even when their condition is not good. And seems like the new member Raina has followed in her members footsteps as well. Thankfully, After School won’t be performing at the KBS Music Festival tomorrow which means they’ll be able to get some rest (excluding Uee who has a performance at the SBS Entertainment awards). The group will be back with another performance on 31st December 2009 for the MBC Music Festival. Let’s look forward to that. ^^
After 5 months (has it really been that long?) of anxiously waiting for their comeback, the day has finally arrived. Out goes a member whom we will dearly missed and in goes two new members who both hope we can love them as equally as the current members. The new members may be young but from a short clip of them preparing for their comeback stage and their performance itself on stage, we can be sure that they will definitely contribute something good to the group itself.
Prior to their actual performance, Music Bank kindly graced us with a countdown video to the group’s performance, showing the girls being prepped up at their hair and make-up salon. Later the girls were seen at their performance rehearsal and finally, the new maknae Nana telling us to wait a little bit more for the group’s performance.
Towards the end of the show, it was finally After School’s turn to perform. The girls wore sleek black and white suits, with accessories complementing their outfits. The girls looked beautiful as usual, if not even more, and the addition of the new members were barely noticeable since both looked like they belong in the group.
Recorded from a different venue than the usual Music Bank venue, the stage looked slightly awkward and the sound system was a little off than usual. Furthermore, given that this was their first comeback stage, there were some parts of the performance that definitely need brushing up. Knowing the girls are perfectionists, we can expect them to only work harder and polish their dance steps and singing even more so they can present to us with better performances each week.
Given the circumstances, the overall performance did however receive positive responses from members of the public, both local and international. Overall, for fans who have been anxiously waiting for 5 months, the girls did not disappoint.

After many weeks and months after reporting about this interview and searching high and low for this video, we the AfterSchoolCraze duo has finally found it. To all the trolls who dissed us, called us liars and some who even claimed we made up our own article, this video is especially especially for you. All we can say is, not many people may like us but you can’t deny the fact that we are indeed damn bloody good at what we do. ^^
Group FT Island members Lee Hong Ki and Choi Jong Hoon ideal girl is After School’s Jooyeon.
On the 21st FT Island members will appear on the broadcast of cable channel KBS Joy “Ent News VIP Interview”.
The team’s youngest member Choi Min Hwan said, “2NE1’s Sandara Park has caught my eyes. Although I’ve never talked to her, I do like her and I would like to have tea with her if I can”.
Lee Hong Ki then said, “I like After School’s Jooyeon.” Choi Jong Hoon then also revealed, “I also like Jooyeon” creating a rivalry between the two. Much attention is created from this as Jooyeon is 23 years old while both Lee Hong Ki and Choi Jong Hoon are 20 years old, having a 3 years age difference.
Meanwhile, FT Island has been active with their recently released 3rd album titled “Cross and Change” and their title song “Hope” entering the top spots of various music charts.
